Summer Events in the Nonprofit World

Tuesday, June 30: The Washington State Association for Justice is hosting the Seattle premiere of "Lost in the Fine Print," with a panel discussion including Congresswoman Delbene at Seattle Town Hall.  


Tuesday, July 7: Join your fellow YNPN members for a summer networking happy hour at Feierabend in South Lake Union! More details here. Monday-Friday, July 13-17: Gilda's Club Seattle is hosting its 13th year of Camp Sparkle, a free day camp for children and teens touched by cancer. Seattle July 13-17 9:30am-4pm and Tacoma August 10-14 9:30am-4pm. For more info check out our website! Saturday, July 18: The Seattle Goodwill Refuse to Abuse 5k is on Saturday, July 18 and runs through Safeco Field. Saturday, July 18: NPH USA's Associate Board is hosting our third annual scavenger hunt/bar crawl through Ballard. (Link coming soon!) Wednesday, July 22: Several organizations are teaming up for the 25th Anniversary of the ADA rally and celebration on Wednesday, July 22nd at Westlake Park. DRW hopes to bring public awareness and to share in the public celebration of where we have been, where we are now, and raise awareness of where we still need to go.  


Saturday, August 1: Seattle Works is hosting a volunteer project with Seattle Tilth at Rainier Beach Urban Farm on Sat, 8/1 with a special team lunch at Big Chickie afterwards! More info & free registration here. Thursday, August 6: Save the date for our first August networking happy hour at The Ballroom in Fremont! Thursday, August 13: The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. is having a really fun Secret Garden Party! August 13th, 2015 from 5-7:30 p.m. at 2501 S. Plum Street in Seattle. Tuesday, August 18: Save the date for our second August happy hour at Twilight Exit in the Central District! Saturday, August 22: Run like a Viking! The second annual “Run like a Viking” 5k benefits the Nordic Heritage Museum in Ballard. Saturday & Sunday, August 22 & 23: Viking Days benefiting the Nordic Heritage Museum in Ballard.  


Global Washington, World Affairs Council & Humanosphere co-host monthly (free) happy hours that are great networking opportunities for people working in and/or interested in international development. Washington Trails Association has trail crew experiences throughout the summer. Whether you are an avid hiker and want to give back to the trails or simply want to get out and meet some others who share your love of the outdoors, WTA trail crews are the way to go!
